Today I started my day off early again. I had a quick breakfast and then we went right to the Newseum. It was such a great experience, I had a lot of fun, and I also saw a lot of the things that I learned about in school, it was great to learn about them all again. At the Newseum one of the most tragic but interesting things was the short movie about September 11,2001. So many terrible things happened that terrible day and to see some of the news reports that I was to young to watch at the time really came to life in front of me and were very painful to watch. I enjoyed taking wonderful pictures of the exhibit only from the parts that I was aloud to take pictures in. After walking around and viewing the Newseum for about two and a half hours, we looked at the time and we had to leave so we could go back to the hotel to get ready for my 3rd and final press meeting with the BEAUTIFUL Congresswomen Berkley from Las Vegas, Nevada. After rushing to get back to the hotel to get ready for my meeting we realized we hadn't eaten so the four of us (me, my mom, my best friend Savannah, and her wonderful mother Stephanie) went to go and grab a quick bite to eat so I would not pass out in front of the Congresswomen. So after eating we realized that my meeting was in a half an hour. We rushed over to the Capitol building and made it to the Congresswoman's office at exactly 2:30p.m. After waiting for a while one of the secretary's told us that we were supposed to wait, because the Congresswomen was in a press conference and could not leave until she spoke. We'll a half an hour went by and the Congresswomen had still not spoken, so her sectary told us that we were going to have to go to the Capitol building from the Cannon building and meet with her in a conference room with other people having loud conversations, so i had to talk extra loud. The meeting went great and the Congresswomen was very warm and welcoming. She could really relate to the dangers on the Internet and she was very easy to talk to, so it made my part of the meeting a bit easier, because I was calm and well prepared. After the wonderful meeting we went back to the Newseum so we could finish our tour of the great museum. Me and Savannah went in to one of the exhibits and it was a 4-D movie that went back in time telling stories, it was very cool! The other really fun thing we did was we went and made our own news broadcasts. We got to be in front of the camera and give all of our positive attitude, and style a shot at being seen. We closed the Newseum at 5:00 p.m. and we went back to our hotel to get ready for are final dinner with everybody from Cox. There we had a FABULOUS dinner and we got to share our greatest memories of the trip, and I had to say that they were site seeing and talking with Senators and Congressmen and women about Internet Safety so that maybe we can make a difference in at least one child's life. dinner got over at about 7:30p.m. so a group of the tweens and parents went to the shops at Georgetown. On the way there it started to rain so we couldn't really do any of the outside shops which was hard, because most of them were outside. After it stopped raining (it was just drizzling, and we didn't mind if we got that wet) we went around looking for an ice cream shop and we found a great Hagen-daze. Finally after a long day we came back to the hotel and everybody has all gone to sleep, except for me. I really am tired and hope to get a good night's rest. I have a full day tomorrow also, so i hope you are looking forward to a great day filled with touring and other fun adventures.
